Marius Bauer was a Dutch painter. After his study trip to Constantinople, he became captivated by the East and subsequently undertook many more journeys. He gained the most recognition for creating etchings and lithographs depicting Eastern scenes, earning him the title of the Netherlands’ most renowned orientalist.
