SKU: 00362 Categories: , Uitgever:

Abraham Delfos was a Dutch artist, art dealer and auction organizer. From 1761 he was director of the Leiden Academy of Painting, and from 1799 he was president of the Leiden art society Ars Aemula Naturae.

From the surviving auction catalogs, it is strongly suspected that Delfos was the only person in Leiden to organize several art auctions between 1769 and 1789. Possibly his distinguished place in the Leiden art community contributed to his important position in the auction business.
