Caspar Merian was one of the most important topographical engravers and publishers of the Baroque period. Of the important work Topographia Germaniae Inferiors etc., a total of 30 volumes appeared with 2142 perspective images and simple plans (mostly without street layout) and 92 maps.

- quality: good/reasonable, in the cloud area some spots (foxing). Foxing is a localized deterioration of paper made before the mid-nineteenth century, so-called rag paper. This paper often contained small metal particles that rusted under the influence of moisture.
