Kees van Dongen was a Dutch-born painter who lived much of his life in France. With his work, he was one of the most important Dutch representatives of fauvism (expressionist style). Van Dongen was already a popular and well-known artist during his lifetime, and his work continues to be exhibited in leading museums worldwide.
In the early 20th century, Kees van Dongen had 16 lithographs published in “L’Assiette au Beurre,” including this rare lithograph.
