Georges Rouault was a French expressionist painter. Characteristic of Rouault’s work are the heavily outlined black outlines. These stand in stark contrast to his intensely bright use of color. Thus, his work is in line with that of Fauvism (expressionist movement originating in France).
Rotogravure is a graphic technique in which images or text are inserted into a metal printing cylinder in the form of a very fine grid-like relief of deepened dot-shaped planes.
